Bro. Bancha Saenghiran, President of Assumption University, Prof. Lu Fuping, Vice president of Tianjin University of Science and Technology, together with Thai and Chinese directors of CIAU and director of International Exchange Office of Tianjin University of Science and Technology attended the 11th Global Confucius Institute Conference in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China on December 10 and December 11.
With “Innovation, Cooperation, Inclusion, Sharing” as its theme, the conference was hosted by Confucius Headquarters (Hanban) and Yunnan Provincial Government. Madam Liu Yandong, Vice Premier of the State Council of China, Chair of the Council of the Confucius Institute Headquarters, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. Global Confucius Institute Conference, with the aim of sharing experiences and strengthening cooperation, is held annually and is known as Education Davos Forum. This year more than 2200 university presidents and CI delegates from 140 countries and regions attended the conference.
In 2016 CIAU opened 12 courses and 2 teaching sites have been set up at Nawamitt High School and Assumption College Rayong which are potential Confucius Classrooms. The number of registered students is 6409, unregistered 61, HSK,HSKK and YCT tests takers 360, cultural exchange activities participants 22800.
