China-Thailand Friendship Cup Chinese Culture Competition Completed

 

On December 8, China-Thailand Friendship Cup Chinese Culture Competition co-hosted by CIAU and Nawamitt High School started at the auditorium of Nawamitt High School. Contestants from 10 colleges and high schools competed against each other and more than 300 audience witnessed this competition.

At the opening ceremony, Ms. Supaporn, principal of Nawamitt High School, and Mr. Zhao Peiqin, Chinese director of CIAU, delivered welcome speeches. Ms. Supaporn welcomed all the visitors and introduced how the competition was prepared. Mr. Zhao Peiqin briefed Confucius Institute, CIAU and its services.

The competition includes Chinese presentation and Chinese culture drawing. Presentation contestants were divided into two groups: junior middle school and senior middle school. The topics for presentation are My Dream and Happiness and Bitterness of Learning Chinese. As for Chinese culture drawing, the contestants were asked to draw places of interest in China and then write and explain the drawing in Chinese. Most of the contestants chose to draw places like Tian’anmen Square and Temple of Heaven.

This competition provides those who love Chinese and Chinese culture a stage to show their achievements in learning Chinese and Chinese culture and which will definitely encourage them to study harder and help them get a better understanding of Confucius Institute.
