On 3rd, March, a CIAU delegation of 9 visited Wong Kai Kang Wong TV station and participated in the screening of a Chinese class conducted by CIAU Thai Director AJ Siriluk Chaipromsit. The delegation also met with the Chinese volunteer teachers.
The TV station is located in a high school in the coastal city of Hua Hin, a famous summuer resort west of Bangkok. The TV station was proposed and financed by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Now the station broadcast round the clock in 15 channels to Thailand and other ASEAN nations, covering programs from primary school to university and vocational education.
AJ Siriluk started her teaching career at the station since the Chinese teaching program was first offered in June, 1998. She has worked there since then and donated all her payment to the education fund and traveled long distance each week to teach though she is in her 70s now. Her efforts have resulted in dozens of good young Thais with good Chinese skills.
