From September 5th to 8th, 2022，the Confucius Institute at Assumption University (CIAU) held a series of celebration activities for 2022 "Confucius Institute Day". Nearly 400 middle school students from Benchamaracharungsarit School, Assumption College Rayong and Assumption College Samutprakarn visited CIAU, sharing the feast of Chinese language and culture.
Since 2016 to 2018, Benchamaracharungsarit School, Assumption College Rayong and Assumption College Samutprakarn jointly established Chinese teaching sites with CIAU. It has maintained a good cooperative relationship in many aspects such as Chinese teaching, Chinese culture promotion and Chinese test.They are firm and good partners on the development path of CIAU.
At the opening ceremony of the event, Rev. Bro. Dr. Prawat Sutthinont, Deputy Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered an opening speech and welcomed students on behalf of Assumption University of Thailand and encouraged students to learn Chinese well.
Ms.Yang Hairong, Chinese director of CIAU, introduced Confucius Institute to the students. She hoped that students could gain Chinese knowledge at the Confucius Institute and enjoy the fun brought by Chinese culture.
In order to welcome the teachers and students participating in the celebration of "Confucius Institute Day" in 2022, CIAU has prepared many Chinese experience, such as calligraphy, Chinese painting, making Chinese door knockers, making Chinese knots, playing Chinese instrument Guzheng, Tai Chi, making Chinese traditional food. The students not only learned Chinese during the activity, but also gained a deeper understanding of Chinese culture.
At the closing ceremony, Mr. Zhou Ziheng, a second-year student of Benchamaracharungsarit School, spoke on behalf of the students. He said that through this activity, they had a better understanding of the Confucius Institute, learned a lot of Chinese knowledge, and gained a lot Chinese knowledge. In the end, all the students expressed their gratitude to the teachers of the Confucius Institute by salute.
The theme of "Confucius Institute Day" in 2022 is "Confucius Institute, Your Good Partner". During the event, CIAU will invite partners from all over the Thailand to visit the Confucius Institute, to discuss friendship and development together, and build a platform for good Thai partners to learn Chinese and understand Chinese culture.
