On April 20, the 2021-2022 Board Meeting of the Confucius Institute at Assumption University（CIAU） was held online. Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President of AU, Prof.Lu Fuping, President of Tianjin University of Science and Technology (TUST), Prof. Gao Faming Vice President of TUST, Ms. Siriluk Chaiprompasit, Thai Director of CIAU, Ms. Yang Hairong, Chinese director of CIAU, and the director of International Exchange Office of TUST attended the meeting.
In his speech, Prof.Lu Fuping pointed out that CIAU completed the annual tasks of the Confucius Institute and achieved gratifying results by concentrating its efforts to overcome the difficulties and challenges brought about by the pandemic COVID-19 and adopting a combination of offline and online methods to exploration and innovation, with the support and the help of President Bancha and Assumption University. He said that Assumption University is the foundation for the development of CIAU, and hoped that the Confucius Institute could be more actively integrated into Assumption University, providing services such as Chinese language teaching, enrollment promotion, and building a Sino-Thai exchange and cooperation platform for Assumption University. With practical actions to make greater contributions to the development of Assumption University, he also hope that CIAU will consolidate the foundation for development, innovate work ideas, expand cooperation areas, strengthen connotation construction, and focus on improving teaching quality, so as to promote Sino-Thailand University. Language and culture exchanges and people-to-people bonds contribute wisdom.
Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran said that this is the second time for us to hold the CIAU Board Meeting online. He was happy to meet our good friends from Tianjin University of Science and Technology again. He hoped the Belt and Road Biotechnology Seminar, coordinated by the Confucius Institute at Assumption University, would become better and better.WithThe Confucius Institute has given full play in its role as communication and exchange platform.
Ms.Yang Hairong, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at Assumption University, reported on the implementation of the resolutions of the last year's board meeting, the work summary in 2021 and the work plan in 2022.
The CIAU Board members fully affirmed the work of CIAU, reviewed the operating budget and final accounts, the recruitment plan for public teachers and volunteers, and deepened Chinese language training, and reached a resolution at the annual council meeting.
