The 4th Belt and Road Biotechnology Seminar “New World: Biotechnology”

  On January 7, 2022, the 4th "Belt and Road" Biotechnology  Seminar was held at at Assumption University, Thailand.

 

    Under the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, this seminar was held online, themed "New World: Biotechnology". Experts and scholars in the field of biology from Chinese and Thai universities gathered online to share their latest research results in the field of biology. The seminar was broadcast live on Facebook, attracting many experts, scholars, teachers and students in the field of biotechnology to watch online.

 

     Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) participated the opening ceremony and delivered the opening speech. He said that through this biological seminar, participants not only can exchange new ideas and discoveries in the field of biology, but also can express their opinions and broaden their horizons.

 

     Prof. Lu Fuping, President, Tianjin University of Science and Technology, P.R. China participated the opening ceremony and delivered the welcome Speech. He hoped that Assumption University and Tianjin University of Science and Technology would make full use of the cooperation platform of  "Belt and Road" ,and then jointly apply for the China-Thai intergovernmental scientific and technological cooperation project and build a "Chinese + Biology" cooperation platform.

 

      Ms. Feng Junying, Counselor of Education, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Thailand attended the seminar online and delivered a congratulatory speech.

     Prof. Xuegang Luo, Dean of College of Biotechnology, Tianjin University of Science and Technology, and Mr. Zhao Peiqin, Deputy Director of the International Exchange Office, Tianjin University of Science and Technology, Asst. Prof. Dr. Patchanee Yasurin, Dean, Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology, Assumption University of Thailand, Mr. Glen Chatelier, Director of the International Affairs Office, as well as Mrs. Siriluk Chaprrompasit, CIAU Thai Director and Ms. Yang Hairong, Chinese Director attended the seminar.

 

     The Belt and Road Biotechnology Seminar is one of important annual work of the Confucius Institute at Assumption University, which has been successfully held for four times so far. Attracting experts, scholars and university teachers and students from China, Thailand, South Korea, Indonesia and other countries along the “Belt and Road”. The Seminar not only promoted the cooperation between universities in China and Thailand in the field of biotechnology, but also helped to build a communication platform in the field of biotechnology among countries of regions along Belt and Road.
