Sino-Thai Friendship Cup 2019

On December 12nd , 2019, hosted by Confucius Institute at Assumption University (hereafter CIAU), the fourth Sino-Thai Friendship Cup of Chinese Culture Contest was undertaken by Nawamintharachinuthit Triamudomsuksapattanakam School (hereafter NTS).508 students from 35 primary and secondary schools in Thailand participated in the contest. 

The contest was divided into five parts: Chinese speech, Chinese character writing, telling traditional Chinese stories, painting, and Chinese singing and dancing.

The themes of the Chinese speech contest are "Do not impose on others what you yourself do not desire " and "Smile is the common language of the world". The contestants are tightly focused on the two theme. They told their understanding and affection with deep felling and mapped the blueprint of friendly exchanges between China and Thailand powerfully. The theme of painting competition is "Place of interest in China". Although some students have never been to China,  they painted the famous Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Tian’anmen Square, the Great Wall and other famous Chinese attractions which were vivid.

In the storytelling competition, the players were fully prepared and equipped with a full set of props, which vividly interpreted the outstanding traditional Chinese cultural stories such as "Hua Mulan" and "Three Moves by Mencius’ Mother". The song and dance competition which was the most lively debuted. The junior and senior high school students sang classic and popular Chinese songs while dancing in traditional Chinese costumes. Their performances were very expressive, and the audience burst into warm applause. The contestants in primary school group were very cute in Chinese costumes and added a touch of color to the scene!

The "Sino-Thai Friendship Cup" Chinese culture competition has established a platform for Thai students to demonstrate Chinese proficiency and Chinese talents, stimulated their enthusiasm for learning Chinese, and promoted more Thai students to understand the friendship between China and Thailand important meaning.
