From December 9th to 10th, 2019 International Chinese Language Education Conference was held in Changsha, Hunan Province. Sun Chunlan, the vice premier of the People’s Republic of China attended and delivered a keynote speech at the conference. Professor Lu Fuping, the vice president of Tianjin University of Science and Technology (hereafter TUST), Mr. Zhao Peiqin, the deputy director of of International Academic Exchange Office, TUST, Ms. Siriluk Chaiprompasit, the Thai director of Congfucius Institute at Assumption University (hereafter CIAU), Ms. Yang Hairong, the Chinese director of CIAU attended this conference.
The theme of the conference is “Innovation and Development of International Chinese Language Education in the New Era”. This conference included one thematic forum and thirty-two workshops which covered important topics such as policies, standards, teachers, teaching materials, teaching methods, tests, and construction of brand projects of international Chinese language education, as well as enhancing cooperation between China and other countries. Over 1,000 representatives of Confucius Institute and other Chinese language education institutions from more than 160 countries attended this conference.
