2019 Chinese Clothes Contest

On November 13, 2019, Confucius Institute at Assumption University (hereafter CIAU) held the 3rd Chinese Clothes Contest. The theme of this contest is “The Beauty of Chinese and Thai Clothes”.

Every participant wore traditional Chinese and Thai clothes to show the beauty of clothes. In clothing display, two participants of each group dressed in traditional Thai and Chinese costumes and introduced the traditional costumes in Mandarin. Through participants’ wonderful exhibition and detailed explanation, the audience not only appreciated the beauty of Chinese and Thai clothes, but also felt the difference of history and culture between Chinese and Thailand. In talent show, participants integrated Chinese and Thai culture into their performances. Two participants from Nawamintharachinuthit Triamudomsuksapattanakarn School integrated song with dance; one played Chinese classic song “Sweetie” with Thai traditional instrument, another dressed in Hanfu and danced. Their wonderful performance won the rapturous applause from the audience.

Through fierce competition, Sudarat Ngernwilai and Waraphon Mithum from Thawaranukul School won both the first prize and the best popularity award. Rev. Bro. Dr. Amnuay Yoonprayong, vice president of Assumption University, presented prizes to them.

From the publication of the registration information to the deadline of the competition, the number of people who visited the official homepage of CIAU exceeded 30,000 times, and the number of interactive people reached 14,000 times, and the number of posters distributed by the participants reached 2,200 times. This Chinese clothing contest obtained a positive impact.
