On January 15th, 2019, Confucius Institute at Assumption University (hereafter CIAU) held the third “Chinese Bridge” Selection Contest. Contestants from 10 schools in the middle and eastern Thailand participated in the contest.
There were three sessions for the contest: Prepared Speech - My Chinese Dream, Knowledge Q&A and Impromptu Speech, and Performance Contest. The contestants showed their rich emotions in their substantial speech content. They also showed their smartness and intelligence in answering knowledge quiz.
The talent show was the most attractive to the audience. The contestants showed how versatile they are. Saharat Lekboontham from Assumption College Rayong (hereafter ACR ) won the applause of the audience with skillful performances of Diabolo. Other contestants’ beautiful singing, elegant dances, melodious performance of Gu Zheng, passionate Chinese rap and sweet guitar drew the audience’s full attention. The last performance Beijing Opera Twin Bliss was vividly performed through singing, chanting, gesturing and fighting. The contestants brought an incomparable visual and acoustic feast to the audience.
After intense and exciting contest, Koontida Khayatiasl from Ming Man Technical College, Thanyarat Srichainan from Streesmutprakan School (SSP) and Napatsakorn Muengsiri from ACR won 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize respectively.
The contest also set up a voting session on CIAU Facebook. At the time of writing, the video of contestants was displayed at the official website of CIAU. It reached 14,739 person-times and 5,343 person-times of interactive interactions, which had a positive impact. CIAU would continue to attach importance to strengthen the construction of the network propaganda platform and open a new chapter in the development of CIAU.
