November 23nd, Confucius Institute at Assumption University (CIAU) and Benchamaracharungsarit School (BRR) jointly organized the movie and salon activities. Mr. Werachai Tananonchai, director of BRR, Mr. Adinan Detpong, vice director of BRR, and Mr. Zhao Peiqin, Chinese director of CIAU unveiled the plate together.
Mr. Werachai Tananonchai, director of BRR, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He welcomed CIAU to organize the movie and salon activities and thanked Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) and CIAU for organizing the students’ autumn camp to China. They hoped that BRR and CIAU would still maintain good cooperation.
The theme of this activity is Journey to the West, one of the four famous ancient Chinese classics. The highlights of Chinese cartoon "Havoc in Heaven" was played. The students deepened their understanding of the story of Journey to the West through watching this animation.
In the following Chinese salon activities, 100 students were divided into five teams, namely Tang Seng eam, Sun Wukong team, the Pig team, Sha Seng team and White Horse team. Each team completed the Chinese vocabularies and sentences in succession. In the end, the students of Sha Seng team worked together to win the first prize with a score of 87 points.
The film festival and Chinese salon activities enabled students to understand Chinese culture from watching Chinese classic cartoon as well as consolidate and improve their Chinese proficiency in invented games.
