On November 5th, Confucius Institute at Assumption University (hereafter CIAU) and Minburi Technical College (hereafter MTC) held affiliated Chinese Tests Center plate unveiling ceremony. Dr. Chompunuch Buabangsorn, the director of Institute of Vocational Education, Bangkok, Mr. Vicharn Minchainant, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MTC, former Deputy Minister of Ministry of Health of Thailand, and top management of 13 vocational education colleges in Bangkok attended the ceremony. Dr. Chompunuch Buabangsorn and Ms. Siriluk Chaiprompasit, Thai Director of CIAU, unveiled the plate together. The ceremony was anchored by Mrs. Siriwan Tonil, vice director of MTC. Heads of different departments, teachers and students attended the ceremony.
In his speech, Dr. Chompunuch Buabangsorn pointed out that co-founding Chinese Tests Center would make it easier for students from 13 vocational education colleges in Bangkok to take Chinese proficiency tests, which meets the demand for qualified professionals by China’s One Belt and One Road Initiative, Thailand’s 4.0 Strategy and Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Strategy.
In his speech, Mr. Zhao Peiqin, Chinese director of CIAU, briefly introduced the vision and mission of Confucius Institutes and the development of CIAU. He hoped that CIAU would conduct more in-depth cooperation with 13 vocational education colleges in Bangkok including MTC in Chinese proficiency tests, Chinese language teaching, and Chinese cultural activities, and help them bridge cooperation and exchanges with Chinese vocational education institutions.
MTC students prepared wonderful performances like China and Thailand Friendship dances for the ceremony. Students who attended the Autumn Camps in China organized by CIAU expressed their gratitude to Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), CIAU and Tianjin University of Science and Technology.
