Teenagers’ 2nd Camp

October 8th to October 19th, 2018, Confucius Institute at Assumption University ( hereafter CIAU ) organized the second Teenagers Chinese Language and Culture Camp, which provided opportunities for Thai teenagers to learn Chinese and experience Chinese culture.

Chinese language and culture camp is a good way to promote Chinese language and Chinese traditional culture. During the camp, the teenager learners not only mastered the language courses tailored for them in relaxed and happy atmosphere, but also experienced Chinese calligraphy, Chinese painting, tea art etiquette, paper cutting, Chinese shadow puppetry, Chinese songs and other cultural courses. The camp helped them improve Chinese proficiency, broaden horizons, have more hobbies, and improve cross-cultural communication skills.

On October 19th, the parents were invited to attend the closing ceremony. Traditional Chinese clothing were displayed through these teenagers’ catwalk show. What they have learned was tested by a series of games such as Pop Three, the megaphone, the fruit squats and the Chinese song performance. The exhibition of their works of Chinese painting, Chinese shadow puppetry and paper-cutting showed what they got from Chinese culture courses.
