May 23 to June 2, 2018, CIAU will organize a group of its outstanding students to participate the summer camp held at Tianjin University of Science and Technology. To guarantee a happy and successful summer camp, CIAU had a pre-trip training for the participants on May 9, 2018.
Mr. Zhao Peiqin, the Chinese director of CIAU, gave lectures on aim of Confucius Institute, aim of summer camp program, brief introduction of CIAU, brief introduction of Tianjin University of Science and Technology, brief introduction of Tianjin, safety tips, adapting to the environment, team work, trans-cultural communication. The CIAU teacher who is in charge of the summer camp program gave the participants a training on schedule, preparations, rules and regulations, requirements and so on.
To promote the international people’s understanding of China and advance mutual understanding among the people, Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) opened students’ trip to China program to Confucius Institutes all over the world. Students of Confucius Institutes will be invited to visit China for summer or autumn camps, during that period they will learn Chinese language and culture and get to know real China. With guidance, care, support and help from Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), Tianjin University of Science and Technology, Assumption University and the community, CIAU grows rapidly. According to the policy of Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), from 2018 the quota for students’ trip to China program CIAU can apply for will be 10 groups of 210 persons every year instead of 1 group of 21 persons in the past. In 2018, CIAU plans to sent 10 groups of more than 200 persons to visit Tianjin University of Science and Technology for summer or autumn camps.
