March 21, 2018, teaching site agreement signing ceremony between CIAU and Sripruetta School (hereafter SS) was held. Mr. Veera Janchai, director of SS, Mr. Chaiya Chauychaisri, vice director of SS, Ms. Siriluk Chaiprompasit, Thai director of CIAU and Mr. Zhao Peiqin, Chinese director of CIAU signed the agreement. Mr. Thammanoon Suansook, vice director of SS, departments heads and teacher representatives of SS and CIAU teacher representatives witnessed the ceremony. SS became the seventh teaching site of CIAU.
Mr. Veera Janchai said that the needs of studying Chinese and Chinese culture in Thailand are increasing as Chinese people led by Chinese leadership headed by President Xi Jinpin are making remarkable achievements. SS still has a lot of work to do in Chinese teaching. By taking the opportunity of co-building teaching site with CIAU, SS will start Chinese classes in the whole school, which will help SS make due contributions in fostering professionals who are good at Chinese to follow the trends of time. Ms. Siriluk Chaiprompasit introduced the origin and present development of Confucius Institutes. Mr. Zhao Peiqin introduced CIAU’s development, vision, services and detailed cooperation with teaching sites.
Founded on April 28, 1978, SS is a key public school approved by Ministry of Education of Thailand. At present there are 2043 students studying at SS. CIAU will guide and help SS in Chinese teaching, Chinese culture activities, Chinese proficiency tests and Chinese language teachers training.
