February 13, CIAU and Assumption College Thonburi (ACT) co-hosted Happy Chinese New Year to celebrate 2018 Spring Festival. Bro. Phiraphongs Darathai, deputy director of ACT, Master Yootapong Wongmueangsan, head of Academics Affairs of ACT attended the festivity.
The festivity started with firecrackers. The celebrations included Chinese performances, Chinese culture interactions, Chinese clothes contest and CIAU giving books to ACT.
Teachers and students of ACT prepared wonderful Chinese music, songs and dances like Good Luck and Fortune Chinese New Year, Kong Fu show, Gu Zhen solo, Fairy Tales. More than 800 students got the opportunity for cultural interactions. They had bites of Jiaozi and sugar coated fruits and learned opera masks painting, paper cutting and paper folding. Pupils in clothes of Han Dynasty, Tang Dynasty and Qing Dynasty competed for Mr. Chinese and Miss Chinese to celebrate Chinese New Year. To support and encourage ACT to do better in Chinese teaching, Chinese proficiency tests, CIAU gave ACT Chinese textbooks and readings.
CIAU wish to give more Thai teachers and students the opportunity to get a better understanding of Chinese New Year and Chinese traditional culture.
