February 8, CIAU and its teaching site Nawamintharachinuthit Triamudomsuksapattanakam School (NTS) co-hosted 2018 Happy Chinese New Year to celebrate the Spring Festival.
Ms. Supaporn Rattnoy, director and deputy directors of NTS attended the activity. NTS was nominated CIAU teaching site of 2017. CIAU donated Chinese teaching materials and Chinese readings to NTS. Lion dance, Chinese songs and dances like Palm, New Year Comes, Wish You Fortune enriched the festivity.
Mr. Chinese and Miss Chinese Contest was held to celebrate Chinese New Year. The contestants in red clothes of Han Dynasty, Tang Dynasty and Qing Dynasty showed beautiful traditional Chinese New Year clothes to the audience. Online votes were also available. The ones with top votes was named the most popular Mr. Chinese and Miss Chinese.
CIAU also prepared Chinese calligraphy, painting, paper cutting, chess, traditional clothes for the audience. Through writing the Chinese character FU which means good luck and fortune, making paper window flowers and wearing traditional Chinese clothes, the students were immersed in the Chinese New Year and came to know more about Chinese culture.
