Biotechnology Seminar

January 26, 2018, Belt and Road Biotechnology Seminar was held at Suvarnabhumi Campus of Assumption University. The seminar was hosted by Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), organized by  Faculty of Biotechnology of Assumption University, Confucius Institute of Assumption University and Faculty of Biotechnology of Tianjin University of Science and Technology.

The seminar aims at providing a platform for experts and professionals in biotechnology from countries and regions along Belt and Road to exchange their ideas and research achievements as well as bridging cooperation among them.

During the opening ceremony, Rev. Bro. Bancha Saenghiran welcomed the participants and expressed his hope that all the participants could think and act creatively, make full use of the good opportunity brought by China’s Belt and Road Initiative, and make due contributions to the exchanges and collaboration in biotechnology field. Dr. Churdchai Cheowtirakul, the dean of Biotechnology of Assumption University, and Professor Wang Min, the dean of Biotechnology of Tianjin University of Science and Technology, were the chairs of the seminar. Professor Glenn Young from University of California, Davis, Professor Ma Long, Professor Zhong Cheng, Professor Liu Fufeng and associate Professor Shen Yanbing from Faculty of Biotechnology Faculty of Tianjin University of Science and Technology made academic reports in turn. There were also panel discussions.

The seminar participants visited Confucius Institute of Assumption University and had a good time experiencing Chinese traditional culture. The participants expressed their gratitude to Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), Assumption University and Tianjin University of Science and Technology for providing a good platform for exchanging ideas and research achievements. They began to thinking of multilateral collaboration possibilities.
