October 16, 2017 CIAU board meeting was held at Tianjin University of Science and Technology (TUST). The attendees are Rev. Bro. Bancha Saenghiran, AU President and chairman of CIAU Board, Professor Han Jinyu, TUST President and vice chairman of CIAU Board, Professor Lu Fuping, TUST Vice President, Dr. Churdchai Cheowtirakul, Dean of Biotechnology of AU, Professor Wang Min, Dean of Biotechnology of TUST, Professor Huang Jinhong, Director of Physical Education of TUST, Mr. Zhao Xin, Acting Director of International Exchange Office of TUST, Ms. Wang Na, Deputy Director of International Exchange Office of TUST, Ms. Siriluk Chaiprompasit, CIAU Thai Director, and Mr. Zhao Peiqin, CIAU Chinese Director.
TUST President welcomed the delegation headed by AU President and expressed TUST’s thanks for AU’s support for CIAU. He hoped that the two universities would strengthen cooperation in teaching, staff and students exchanges and scientific research with the help of CIAU.
Bro. Bancha Saenghiran said that as the chairman of CIAU Board he would continue his support and guidance to CIAU and the two universities would deepen friendship and cooperation with CIAU’s link after he thanked TUST for their warm reception.
TUST Vice President briefed the approvals of last year’s board meeting and gave his advice for CIAU’s development.
Mr. Zhao Peiqin reported the follow-up matters of 2016 CIAU board meeting, works of CIAU in 2016-2017, plans for future, Belt and Road Biotechnology Seminar, short term Chinese featured courses to the board.
The attendees agreed that CIAU did well and would surely become better and better. Then they discussed matters for consideration in details and agreed on the approvals of this year’s board meeting.
At the end of the meeting, Bro. Bancha Saenghiran called on a mourning ceremony for the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
After the meeting, Bro. Bancha Saenghiran was welcomed by some Thai students who are studying at TUST. Bro. Bancha Saenghiran showed his care for their life and study at TUST and gave them guidance.
Dr. Churdchai Cheowtirakul and his colleague Dr. Patchanee Yasurin visited College of Biotechnology of TUST and discussed future cooperation.
