Teaching site agreement signing ceremony between Confucius Institute at Assumption University and Assumption College Thonburi was held on June 14, 2017. On behalf of Brother Verayuth Boonpram, Principal of Assumption College Thonburi, Brother Phiraphongs Darathai, Vice Principal of Assumption College Thonburi, and Ms. Siriluk Chaiprompasit, Thai Director of Confucius Institute at Assumption University, signed the agreement. Master Yootapong Wongmueangsan, Head of Academics of Assumption College Thonburi, and Mr. Zhao Peiqin, Chinese Director of Confucius Institute at Assumption University, witnessed the signing. Assumption College Thonburi became the third teaching site of Confucius Institute at Assumption University.
On the signing ceremony, the No. 1 in Chinese Bridge Selection Contest held by Confucius Institute at Assumption University in 2017 and a student of Assumption College Thonburi gave an introduction of Assumption College Thonburi and its Chinese teaching in natural Mandarin. Chinese songs and dances from students of Assumption College Thonburi added joy to the ceremony.
Brother Phiraphongs Darathai and Ms. Siriluk Chaiprompasit expressed their confidence in future cooperation in Chinese teaching and Chinese culture activities.
There are 120 classes and 5291 students in the three sections (primary school, junior middle school and senior middle school) of Assumption College Thonburi. After the ceremony, Confucius Institute at Assumption University will guide and help Assumption College Thonburi in Chinese teaching, Chinese language teachers training, Chinese proficiency contests, Chinese culture activities, Chinese proficiency tests like HSK, YCT and BCT with the aim of improving its Chinese teaching and Chinese culture activities.
