June 10, 2019, Confucius Institute at Assumption University (hereafter CIAU) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) of Chinese language training with the Royal Thai Navy Language Center.
Capt. Nahatai Chandrasakha, director of the Royal Thai Navy Language Center, Ms. Siriluk Chaiprompasit, Thai director of CIAU, and MS. Yang Hairong, Chinese director of CIAU, signed the MOU together. Heads of departments in the Royal Thai Navy Language Center and CIAU teachers attended the signing ceremony.
In the ceremony, Capt. Nahatai Chandrasakha, expressed her great gratitude to CIAU and hoped to have further cooperation with CIAU in the future. Ms. Siriluk Chaiprompasit said that teaching cooperation is an important channel for enhancing friendship and mutual understanding for both sides. Open Chinese language training class is a good start for CIAU and Royal Thai Navy Language Center to establish a friendly relationship.
After the signing ceremony, the Chinese language training class begun. The members of the class consisted of naval officers and cadets. Mr. Warut Chaichan, Thai native Chines teacher of CIAU, served as the first lecturer.
